About Charles Bell
An Unconventional Journey to Training and Innovation

My path to training and leadership development has been anything but traditional, shaped by experiences across academia, private industry, and the federal government.
It all began at the University of North Dakota, where I became the campus webmaster during the early days of the dot-com boom. Technology was evolving at a breakneck pace, and I quickly mastered new software, coding techniques, and creative solutions—despite limited resources.
After graduation, I moved to Chicago to work as a programmer and troubleshooter for several companies. It was an exhilarating time when the possibilities of the internet seemed limitless, though success demanded constant agility and innovation. When the dot-com bust arrived, I recalibrated and returned to a lifelong passion: meteorology.
A New Direction: Forecasting and Public Service
For 15 years, I served at multiple National Weather Service forecast offices within NOAA, beginning with an unforgettable assignment in Alaska—one of the most challenging and humbling environments for any forecaster. I advanced from forecaster to senior forecaster, gaining valuable expertise in decision-making, communication, and leadership under pressure.
These experiences refined not only my technical skills but also my leadership philosophy: stay composed, adaptable, and mission-focused.
Expanding Impact: Leadership Development and AI Training
Today, I draw on my diverse background to empower organizations and individuals through leadership development, instructional design, and practical AI training.
